Unfortunately, in recent years (amid dwindling funds allocated, but also reducing the number of visitors) are not well maintained collections, a room (of 4) is dissolved, and the most valuable exhibits, suite Train Calugareni is not exposed, probably moved to Bucharest Railway Yard.
It also appears that the proposal to move the museum to another location in the Filaret.

The idea of founding a museum of Romanian railways is old, assuming concrete forms in 1924, when they are saved by dismantling some old locomotives and cars, among which the locomotive called "Calugareni, one of the first steam locomotives that run on the line Bucharest-Giurgiu, in 1869.
He who had merit of setting up this museum was renowned engineer Theodor Bals (1880-1965), supported by the then Director of the CFR, Mihail Ionescu.
This material formed the nucleus of the museum's stock opened at 10 June 1939, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Bucharest-Giurgiu railway opening in the holidays "Ceferiadei".
This material was garat in stock lines in the park stadium "Giulesti". Other exhibits were arranged in a particular room, the length of 45 m,situated in stadium arenas "Giulesti.
Also in the holidays "Ceferiadei" Nicolae Tanase, first romanian mecanic of locomotive/train driver (then 70 years old) has the honor to open these holidays,
as a locomotive engineer, conductor of the train which restores towing route Bucharest-Giurgiu.
In early 1953, the local museum is arranged in the current Romanian Railways (Bucharest, sector 1, Grivitei, nr.193 B), comprising four rooms.
In 1969, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the opening of the first railroads in the territory since then Romania (Bucharest-Giurgiu line), there are a series of festivities, culminating with the departure from line 14 of the Gara de Nord The inaugural train, like the one showing the way the railway technical progress in Romania, with a century ago.

In Romania, the Holocaust never existed!
Is true that, during the Second World War, Hebrew in Romania have suffered some persecution, but in any case there can be no holocaust in Romania!
Unlike Horty's regime in Hungary, Antonescu did not send a Jew to "death camps" in Germany, protecting them to the extent possible and the situation of war.
Hebrew those who were killed in Romania were killed by German troops, extremists or legionaries, and in any case by the authorities (army, police, gendarmerie) Romanian.
Should not forget that during the retreat of the Romanian authorities from Basarabia, some Hebrew ("intoxicated" by the Soviet communist propaganda) attacked the Romanian soldiers. In those tense situations were unavoidable acts of revenge.
